Sue Ariniello

Sue Ariniello grew up in rural western New York State, surrounded by forests and farms. Much of her time was spent outdoors; time in doors was for sketching. She was fortunate to have a great Art teacher in High school who introduced her to ceramics and other 3-D mediums.

She attended the College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY for 2-1/2 year. Summers were spent as a Girl Scout Camp Counselor and later, as a member of a Trail Construction and Maintenance crew in the Indian Peaks Wilderness area in Colorado.

She took a year off from College and resumed her education at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Here she obtained 2 degrees – a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Biology.

A job in engineering drew her back to Colorado, where she met her husband. She had twin boys, and raising her family kept her well-occupied for the next 18 years. But when she had spare time, Sue still dabbled in various art forms including Stained glass and Wood carving.

With her 2 sons grown and off to college, Sue had time to focus on the arts and she always had a special affinity for sculpture.

She met her neighbor, Diane Mason, a wildlife artist who worked in bronze, and was introduced to the wonderful Loveland, Colorado community of artists and individuals who work in the various aspects of Bronze services.  She began to work in Diane’s studio. Her natural talent, hard work and passion for the subject matter resulted in some remarkable works of art.

Two of her first pieces were accepted into major public arts programs for year-long display and another of her pieces was accepted into the prestigious American Women Artists’ Annual Juried Exhibition (The Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, VT September 2016).
